Food Culture in Melbourne

March 1, 2023

Whether it be Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Spanish or Korean food…. you name it, Melbourne’s got it.

Let’s be honest, food is such a joyful space - it brings happiness to each of us on so many levels. Is it because of its taste? Is it because of how it makes us feel? Or could it be that food is the celebration that brings family & friends together around the table…?

At Piccolino, we’re not sure there’s just one answer. But what we are sure of, is that Melbourne has such an undeniably diverse food scene and we are privileged to not only live here in Melbourne, but as hospitality professionals we get to share our Italian wares in this great city alongside so many other beautiful races and cultures.

Think about it… !! As a Melbournian, you can go out almost anywhere (and at any time of the day) and eat and drink just about anything your taste buds are yearning for. Whether it be Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Spanish, Korean…. you name it, Melbourne’s got it. We are so spoilt for choice and blessed to be part of such exceptional food culture.

We truly believe multiculturalism is at the helm of what makes the Food Culture in Melbourne so incredibly special.

"We take pride in an authentic approach to making woodfired pizza, and are responsible for some of this city's best house-made pasta and gnocchi dishes. We are also the very proud creator of a Melbourne first and our now most talked about dish, the Spag Bowl"
